William is a graduate of the University of Connecticut with a major in Human Development and Family Studies. UCONN was the only school to offer William a football scholarship out of high school. He also received several art scholarships. He attended William Penn High School in York, Pennsylvania and earned 1st-team All-County honors on both offense and defense. A team captain, he played defensive end, defensive tackle, offensive tackle and tight end during his career.
He earned a combined 7 varsity letters in football, basketball and track. He was the center on the school's basketball team, an Honor Roll student and member of the Future Leaders of America. Both of his parents, Keith and Sylvia Beatty are Pastors at Believer's Fellowship of Arizona in Chandler, Arizona.
